Grilled Bratwursts (NEW)
12 bratwursts, uncooked
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
beer (your choice)
½ cup margarine (1 stick), sliced
1 tablespoon per pound Bavarian Sausage 052 Pleasoning
Poke brats with a pin or fork (when using fork, just pierce the brats with the very tip of the tines). This keeps the brats from splitting open. Place brats in a large pan, cover with beer and add remaining ingredients. Simmer 20 minutes.
In the meantime, prepare your grill (charcoal or gas). Remove brats from liquid and grill 20 minutes or until done.
Another option is to prepare brats, remove from liquid, place in Tupperware, add one can of beer and refrigerate overnight (turning at least once) - grill the next day. This keeps the brats from drying out.
